Certification is becoming an important issue in recent years...
I can see this issue with 4 different angles: I am an expert taking exams, an employer, an IBM BP and co-leader of LUGTR... I will be considering our market, of course. If there are differences, don't hesitate to comment in.
In one of my previous posts, I mentioned about a way to authenticate user for a web application inside an iFrame in XPiNC page.
Now I found another solution for this. When a user clicks a link inside a Notes Client application, we may authenticate him on the web server application (either XPages or 'legacy' (!) web application)...
When there is a background processing where the user should wait until it's done, I don't want him/her to click anywhere else in the screen. But I also want the user to know s/he'll have to wait.
Overdemanding?
I found a very simple solution to this problem. Sure there is more elegant solutions without dojo, but let me share it...
My latest post was about Lotus Quickr for Domino customization. While designing Turkish Lotus User Group site, I have learned lot about this customization issue.
I said that it was poorly documented, whereas IBM released this handy presentation about the general concept of widget customization. I wish I had seen this before I have consumed hours to understand what's going on. Unlucky me :)
I have been dealing with the user group site for days... When I first designed LUG site a couple of years ago, I told: "Hey! it's not easy to customize Quickr for Portal. You have to know this, this and a bit of these...".
However, right now, I am totally against 30-year-old-me... I should have looked at the Domino version!
I want to share my experiences in customizations to save your time. I am sorry that I cannot provide a step-by-step guide for this. Instead, I will explain the major parts of customization and try to show how I overcome these issues. Even if you know, please comment your feedbacks about my mistakes...
While dealing with the conference, I didn't posted any useful entry to my blog :)
Nowadays, I am working on Lotus Quickr 8.5 for Domino and Sametime 8.5. We'll review Sametime another time but I wanted to mention about Quickr with fresh experience. As we are moving our user group site to Quickr and I have been certified recently, I am ready for questions...
I were in Sapancafor a partner meeting. Thanks to Esra and other local IBMers, we had a great micro weekend despite of the stormy heavy rain :)
As lately discussed, I am facing more and more licensing questions everyday. As I frequently ask them to CEE team, Maciej (Lotus Channel Manager) gave a short presentation about licensing. I hope a customer webcast will be organized soon...
IBM has changed the licensing model at the beginning of 2010 and promoted Lotus Mobile Connect client licenses to enterprise customers. I have posted a Turkish entry about LMC and this is the English version with a little extension. I try to summarize some key features of this great product.
I posted an entry on wednesday: "Need suggestion: Authenticate for HTTP from XPiNC?". It was about showing an HTTP resource inside an XPage on Notes Client with authentication.
Tim Tripcony, blogger at http://xmage.gbs.com commented about the issue. After his great contribution, I found a bug and a workaround.
