IBM has changed the licensing model at the beginning of 2010 and promoted Lotus Mobile Connect client licenses to enterprise customers. I have posted a Turkish entry about LMC and this is the English version with a little extension. I try to summarize some key features of this great product.

I had some customer visits last week and those visits remind me that many companies are short in Domino staff. Rule of thumb is one admin per 200 users. But, I wonder how many companies have enough admins... Regarding my customers, the average is one admin per 400-500 users. This is not healthy. Let me suggest some tricks to overcome this annoying workload...

Since Lotus Connections and Quickr are very hot products in IBM Sales teams, I have read and seen too many presentations, reports or sales documents until now. Frankly, I found many of them useless. Because all vendors, including IBM try to sell social software products as 'yet another corporate software'. They think that it is a matter of 'believing or not' the wind of social software. I define this selling process in a very sarcastic way:
When I chat with Lotus Professionals around, I see that many are busy with their daily agendas. Most cannot concentrate on developing their expertise. I even know Lotus professionals working in large companies and dealing with non-Lotus systems, which seems abnormal to me.
On the latest blog, we have discussed whether the concept of Corporate Social Networking Software will spread or not. We have spotted few points: volatility of business habits, pragmatism of stakeholders and importance of management fashions. Now it is time to talk about how this concept has been evolved and what it is like.
Social Software , or Corporate Social Networking Software is a very trendy topic lately. Blogs , Micro-blogs , Wikis , etc. Although the topic is not mature enough to be printed at special pages of popular business media, the storm is coming.
